Habraghat College, known as Habraghat Mahavidyalaya dedicated to the glorious memory of “Habraghat Pargana” a revenue village of the erstwhile Bijni Raj State , was formally inaugurated on the auspicious day of 29th August, 1979 with 61 Students in-Pre University Class under the aegis of a Sponsoring & Governing Body with a view to catering to the need of higher education

Habraghat Mahaviyalaya, Krishnai is a rural college that was established in 1979 with the mission of catering to the needs of higher education to the students predominantly belonging to minority, S.C., S.T., & O.B.C. communities which was the need of the time. VISSION: Our vision is to make the college an ideal Centre of Knowledge and Learning through imparting quality and value oriented education as well as promoting academic excellence.

MOTO: The motto of the college is “tomoso maa jyotirgamaya” which means to dispel darkness of ignorance by spreading light of knowledge that finds expression in the emblem of the college.

AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIP: Apart from SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/Merit Scholarships by State & the Central Govt. the college with a view to encourage meritorious students in their pursuit for excellence, awards free-studentship for one year term to the students securing highest marks (not less than 70%) in the last qualifying examination provided he /she belongs to BPL.
